THE Kerry College of Further Education campus in Clash was buzzing on Wednesday as they held an Open Day to showcase the courses, facilities and wide range of options available.
There were hundreds of secondary school students from around the county as well as people who want to upskill and retrain and with so many courses to choose from, they were spoilt for choice.
Principal of KCFE, Mary Lucey, was delighted with the amount of people attending on the day and with a new campus opening last September in Denny Street, the course options in a wide variety of sectors continues to expand at the college.

“We’re very pleased, there’s been a huge turnout with people travelling from all parts of the county and there’s great interest in the courses. Our students and teachers are facilitating workshops today to give an idea to potential students of what the courses entail and whether they are suited to them.
Our students are driving the day as the student council has played an important part in the event. Our focus is the students here in KCFE and we’re responding to what our current students feel our future students would like,” said Mary.
“At the moment, there are over 65 courses on offer. The fact that we opened the new Health Care and Social Sciences campus in Denny Street last September, means we have additional capacity and facilities and we are going to expand our range of health care and applied social studies courses.”
