A NUMBER of Rose of Tralee contestants paid a visit to the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry on Friday morning.

They met staff and patients to hear about the amazing work that goes at the facility and the new 15 bed unit which will open next month.

Arizona Rose Lauren Koll had an interesting chat with patient 91 year old Marie O’Carroll from Connolly Park, who spent many years in the US, including some time in Arizona where her late husband, William, was stationed as a meteorologist with the US Air Force.

The Roses posed for photos and spent time with patients and learned more about the facility before heading off to another engagement. Scroll down for photos…
