THEY came from the west to pack out the Lee Suite in The Rose Hotel last night, for a highly entertaining fashion show in aid of Aughacasla NS.
The special guest MC was Bernard O’Shea from RTE’s ‘Bridget And Eamon’ and ‘Republic of Telly’ comedy shows, who has ties to the west Kerry school through young relatives attending there. Bernard’s father hails from Annascaul.
Over 300 people supported the event where co-host, designer Rebekah Wall, described the fashions on display from many boutiques in Tralee and beyond.
The professional models were joined by the school’s staff and pupils donning the latest styles, much to the delight of friends and family in the audience. Bernard’s character Eamon may not be very kind to his “six to eight kids”, but the Laois native proved a witty and friendly interviewer to the child models as they came off the runway.
There were spot prizes on the night and everyone received a goodie bag as they entered the room. The school, which is about 15 miles from Tralee, was the real winner though and funds will go towards its further development.
