THE Scoil Eoin Balloonagh community was out in force on Friday night and didn’t they all look stylish!
Local businesses, parents, boards of management, parents association, staff members past and present, families and friends gathered at Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa to celebrate Valentines Night with a Gala Ball.
Guests were entertained on arrival with the antics of ‘The Tall Gent’ – Malachy Kelly and by the gifted Deirdre Millane (a teacher in Scoil Eoin) on piano in the foyer.
A gin reception sponsored by Garnish Island Gin set the night off in great spirits before everyone was treated to a very impressive 5 course meal and wine.

A raffle sponsored by Ned O Shea & Sons Construction Ltd for one nights Dinner, Bed & Breakfast in Adare Manor Hotel was also held before guests kicked back their heels to dance the night away to the wonderful Arklight followed by Manus Leane D.J.
“The Valentine’s Ball was organised as the first of many events planned over the next 18 months to fundraise for playground development and equipment in tandem with the major renovation and building works currently underway,” said principal Kieran O Toole, as he addressed the gathering on the night and thanked everyone for their generosity and support for the school.
The school has set a target of €55,000 over the next 18 months and hoped to raise in the region of €15,000 with this event.
Mr. O Toole described the night as “a credit to the organising committee (Áine Baker, Sinéad Curtin, Noreen Rusk, Veronica Donovan, Carol Anne O Donoghue & Tina Conway) and a sign of the generosity of the local businesses and school community that we have gathered in excess of €25,000 to date.” Scroll down for photos…
