PHOTOS: Students Organise Spikeball Tournament At Mounthawk

TRANSITION Year students of Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School organised a spikeball tournament for primary school students around Tralee on Wednesday.

The TY Students have been coaching pupils from primary school all around Tralee to play Spikeball over the course of six weeks. They began in December, training CBS Primary School, St Brendan’s National School Fenit, Spa NS, Balloonagh and Presentation.

The training led up to the two Blitz, A and B, which was held today in Mounthawk. The schools that participated battled it out in a number of heats held throughout the day with Spa and CBS emerging as winners.

Lucy O’Sullivan, a Spikeball Leader, said; “It’s the first time we’ve done this in about six years, so we’re very lucky to have the opportunity to become leaders.” Scroll down for photos…
