A BEAUTIFUL, crisp Saturday morning at the Wetlands greeted walkers of all ages for the annual walk to coincide with the Operation Transformation TV show.
Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership, with the support of Sport Ireland, joined up with RTE show once again for the National Walk Day with two walks in Kerry, one in Tralee and the other in Listowel.
The national event, now in its tenth year, had a great turn out yet again in Tralee with Minister of State for Sport and Tourism Brendan Griffin leading the many participants out from the Wetlands on the 7km route, out the canal walkway and back.

Minister Griffin took part in the walk a couple of years ago when he was 17½ stone and just a year later, after a positive lifestyle change, he had shed five stone to take part in the walk and has maintained that healthy lifestyle since.
The event was well stewarded by volunteers and Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership, while there were refreshments laid on for the walkers when they returned to the Wetlands. Scroll down for photos…
