NEARLY 1,000 people enjoyed some fantastic entertainment last night as the staff at University Hospital Kerry showed there’s a lot more to them than their talents in the healthcare profession.
Over 7o of them in eight acts took to the stage in the Brandon Hotel Conference centre for UHK’s Got Talent, a singing, dancing, drama and musical extravaganza.
Last year, dancers from University Hospital Kerry took to the stage for a “Sickly Come Dancing 2018” event where a phenomenal €67,000 was raised for the redevelopment of the hospital chemotherapy day unit, so they were hoping to top the €100,000 mark between the two events this year.

It looks like they’ll accomplish that as staff turned up in their hundreds for the night which was MC’d by Radio Kerry’s Tim Moynihan and had RTE’s Dáithí Ó Sé, Michael Healy Rae and Elma Walsh as the judges.
Organised by the hospital Sports & Social Club committee, they secured the services of choreographer Honor Hurley who had the acts well drilled for their performances which were loved by the audience.
The acts taking part were The Lubricants, Vocal Chords, The Arrhythmias, Daniel Than, Getting Plastered, Tradology, The Flu Fighters and Fit For Discharge.
In the end, the judges went for Vocal Chords while the public vote favoured The Arrhythmias. A fantastic night then for a wonderful cause and well done to all who contributed in any way. Scroll down for photos…
