IT’S been a while, but the Chain Gang Cycling Club members are back in business this week with a few outings, starting off with a short cycle on Thursday evening.

Just under 20 members got back on their bikes and set off from the car park at Kerry County Council buildings and they were glad to meet up again.

“It’s fantastic to be together again after being out so long and we’re lucky that the sun is shining,” said Avril Hewitt, one of over 100 members in the club.

There are more spins taking place on Saturday and Sunday and new members are always welcome said Avril. See their Facebook page for details.

Before they set off, the members held a minute’s silence for young cyclist Aoibheann Duffy from Ardfert who died after a road traffic collision near Abbeydorney on Monday.

Aoibheann was reportedly an avid cyclist and the thoughts of Chain Gang Club members are with her family and friends. Scroll down for photos…
