THE ‘Dingle Way Challenge’ was held for the third year running last weekend, with St Pat’s GAA Club hosting the event, looking to raise enough funds for floodlights on their new astro turf pitch.

Over 250 people chose to brave the challenging course, which this year was split into two routes of a ’54km Ultra’ route and a ’40km Challenge’ route.

The weather was on the side of the competitors with the rain holding off and the clouds parting, allowing for fantastic views of the Dingle Peninsula.

Walkers were well taken care off on the day as they were treated to a range of meals from various pubs and restaurants, with a final celebration of their achievements held in Benners Hotel – who were the main sponsors of the event – on Sunday night.

The Challenge has been declared a great success again this year, having attracted visitors from all over, including the US, UK and Scandinavia, while also raising a great of money for the club.
