SO Kerry has a new Rose after Sally Ann Leahy was chosen from the 17 ladies who contested the selection at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel last night.
The 27-year-old from Causeway, looked shocked and delighted, when host Dáithí Ó Sé called out her name and she was immediately serenaded by Alan Teahan with the Rose of Tralee.
The judges — former Dublin Rose Orla Tobin, Brid McElligott of IT Tralee and Captain Mike Edgeworth — chose Sally Ann after an entertaining evening where Daithi interviewed all the contestants in front of around 400 people.

Sally-Ann is a Home Economics teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator in Meán Scoil Nua an Leith-Tríuigh, Castlegregory and is an active volunteer with Chernobyl Children’s Fund, Tralee, who sponsored her.
