THOUSANDS of euro have been raised from a fundraiser which took place this weekend to help out the Kerry Hospice Foundation Palliative Care Unit.
Michelle Greaney, AAI run coach, along with Andrea O’Donoghue of Kerry Hospice organised the Kerry Hospice Sunflower Day Virtual Run/Walk with people taking on a 5k/10k run or walk or a half-marathon over the weekend while observing social distancing guidelines.
Medals were provided for everyone that took part and many posted photos to facebook and Instagram, using hashtag #kerryhospice and #sunflowerdayrun.
Up to Monday afternoon, nearly €8,000 had been raised which will be used by Kerry Hospice to go towards the campaign to raise over €400,000 to fund and aid the running costs of the Inpatient Unit and the Day unit.
