IT has been another busy year for Kerry ETB Training Centre in Monavalley.
Their first graduation event of 2019 – ‘Presentation of Certificates Ceremony’ took place on Thursday night at The Rose Hotel, Tralee where over 500 learners graduated with new qualifications. On the night, certificates were issued to graduates who attended with their families and friends.
Graduates were from 40 full and part time courses in Business Administration, Engineering and Construction, Hairdressing and Beauty, Healthcare and Childcare, Sales and Marketing, Creative Media, Security, Tourism and Hospitality.

Training Centre Manager, Con O’Sullivan highlighted the achievements of the learners and the importance of this event for them – and also acknowledged the progressive and innovative staff at the centre – where training programmes in Cyber Security, Marine Engineering and Graduate Media Traineeships are currently in development.
Owen O’Donnell, Director of Further Education and Training at Kerry ETB spoke about the importance and relevance of skills training in driving Ireland’s growing economy – and how it’s never too late to consider a career change.
Cllr. Jim Finucane, Chairperson of the Board of Kerry Education and Training Board noted that Kerry ETB Training Centre plays a unique role in moving learners from pathway courses to more advanced education and training for further study or transition to workplace.
Special Guest on the night was co-founder of State of Mind Ireland Dr. Susan Lawlor – a native of Tralee.
Dr. Lawlor delivered an inspiring talk about the transformative power of education and training – but highlighted the importance of saying thanks to those who believe in you, fulfilling ones potential and staying connected to those who offer support and guidance.
