PUPILS , parents and teachers of Tralee Educate Together National School participated in a walk around the woods at the back of their school on Thursday as part of European Mobility Week.
The event which was funded by a grant through Tralee Active Travel and Kerry County Council was a tremendous success.
It’s aim was to highlight the importance of physical activity in our everyday lives and also to promote walking or cycling as an alternative form of transport to our cars for everyday journeys.

Mary Brosnan, Principal of Tralee Educate Together NS, said “The walk was a super success to encourage physical activity and demonstrated the inclusive ethos of our school where parents, teachers and pupils work together to promote all aspects of the curriculum”.
Each of the children and parents were given a free raffle ticket for a raffle which took place after the walk. The prizes included a beautiful bicycle, Super Valu Healthy Food Vouchers, soccer balls, foot balls, skipping ropes, etc.
The school thanked Anna Meria Costello, Kerry County Council, the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport for supporting the initiative. Scroll down for photos…
