THE best maths students in the county gathered in the IT Tralee South Campus last night for the Irish Maths Teachers Association Kerry final.
Ten teams from six schools around the county took part with half of them – three from Mercy Mounthawk and two Presentation — from Tralee schools.
In the end it was a team from Mercy Mounthawk which won first prize after garnering the most correct answers after the eight rounds of questions.

Charlotte Calleja O’Halloran, Mairead Kearney, Sean Hennessy and Timothy Grimes accepted trophies each and a plaque to mark their victory.
A team from St Brendan’s College, Killarney came second, followed by a team from St Michael’s College, Listowel in third. The Tralee team will now go forward to the national final in Dublin in April. Scroll down for photos…
