WHILE we were drowned out of it in Tralee on Friday, it was a drier, sunnier affair in the Big Apple for the New York St Patrick’s Day parade.

Among the many people from Kerry taking part on the day were representatives from Tralee Garda Station.

Gardas Lynda Brosnan, Helen Foley, Claudine O’Sullivan, Eilís Cronin, Ann Marie O’Shea and Sarah Jennings were part of a contingent of 150 Gardai from all over Ireland invited to New York for the parade by the Emerald Society and New York Police Department.

They weren’t the only Kerry visitors taking part. The Mayor Of Kerry, Michael O’Shea, was also there with John Griffin, Tourism Officer with Kerry County Council taking part in various engagements.

The Mayor marched with the Kerry Association of New York along with 2016 Rose of Tralee contestants and attended at reception hosted by Mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio. Scroll down for photos…
