A NEW book compiled by Sixth Class pupil in Holy Family NS was launched last Friday at the school.
The book contains photographs from the past 40 years in the school and is a must-have for anyone who is a past pupil.
The book came about as a project by the pupils who are taking part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme.
“We began last October and a lot of work has gone into it,” said sixth class teacher, Pat Ó Conchúir. “We’re delighted today to see the fruits of their labour in the publication of the book. There’s old photographs from first communions and confirmations, staff photos etc. giving an historical overview of the school since 1976,” he said. Mr Ó Conchúir also thanked Kingdom Printers for help in producing the book.

Principal Ed O’Brien said the Junior Entrepreneur Programme was hugely beneficial for the pupils.
“The children get involved in producing an end product. They have to suss out the marketing, finance, design and so on. They have to make it work so it’s a very worthwhile project,” he said.
Mr. Tony Griffin, a pupil from the first class in 1976 and his son Evan, currently in the Junior Infant class launched the album watched by past pupils, the former and current principals of the school and Mayor of Tralee, Terry O’Brien, himself a past pupil who was in Tony’s class.
