IRISH TV Tralee Warriors made it four wins in a row when they beat Griffith Swords Thunder, 61 to 55, in the First Round, First Leg of the Hula Hoop Men’s SuperLeague Pat Duffy Cup in the Tralee Sports and Leisure Centre last night.
The venue was full 40 minutes before the start and there was a terrific atmosphere yet again generated by the home crowd as acknowledged by the Swords twitter account last night…

It was Swords Thunder though, who managed to lead at the end of the first quarter, 17 to 18. But the home side went wild in the second and Swords could only manage three points before half-time, with Warriors amassing 24 points to leave it 41 to 21 at the break.

Thunder staged a valiant comeback in the third quarter and starting into the last period they were down by just five, with the scores 51 to 46 to Tralee. However, the Warriors held their nerve throughout the fourth to win by six.
