Xanax was seized by Gardai at the weekend.
OVER €1,500 worth of Xanax was seized by undercover Gardaí in town last weekend.
On Sunday evening last, Gardaí, stopped and searched a car in Stacks Villas and found approximately, 500 Xanax tablets, in the vehicle.
A local man and woman were detained over the incident.
The woman was released without charge while the man was charged in connection with the offence and is expected to appear in court sometime in September.
This is part of a clamp down by Gardaí, on the illegal sale of prescription drugs in Tralee. Gardaí, were acting on information they had received and were waiting for the car as it entered Stacks Villas.
Xanax, is used to treat people who suffer from anxiety issues and or panic attacks.
