ALL students at Presentation Secondary School, Tralee were invited to wear Christmas Jumpers on Tuesday in order to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald house at Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

However, students are being asked to use their creativity to “Upcycle” an existing jumper rather than wearing a shop-bought version.

Two workshops were held on Wednesday and Thursday, December 14/15  by TY students to help people come up with ideas for designs and there were three prizes for the most original jumpers etc.

A Jumper parade was held at lunch-time and many stylish and well-lit jumpers were paraded with pride! Ms. O’Neill was the MC with judges Ms. Caroline Foley, Mr. Alan O’Sullivan , Ms. Helena Madigan and Ms. Margaret Barry being very impressed with the high standard.

Siobhan Foran of 3rd Year won 1st prize, Roisin Kennelly of 1D won 2nd and Ema Baftari of 1E won 3rd prize. The event raised almost €1,000 for the Ronald McDonald House so well done to everyone for their participation and generosity.

The Ronald McDonald House provides invaluable accommodation and support for parents of sick children who may have to spend extended periods of time with children who are seriously ill at Crumlin children’s hospital. Scroll down for photos…
