TWO Tralee students will represent Kerry in the Social Media category at the National Student Enterprise Awards next month and they need your help to win.

Lauren Kelly and Maria Daly, Transition Year students at Presentation Secondary School Tralee, founded ‘Instant Cuimhne’ back in October and the mini-company has really taken off.

The company allows customers to have their digital photos transformed into Polaroid prints and there’s been a big demand for the service.

So how come they got to represent Kerry?

“They thought we had the best social media campaign in Kerry and we got a lot of sales through that all over Ireland,” said Lauren.

People email the photos to the girls and they can customise the borders, add text, filters or whatever people would like, to their images.

They then print them off in polaroid form and send them back in special boxes in 10 (€9), 20 (€13) or 30 (€19) packages.

“Everybody takes photos on their phone now so we just thought people would want a hard copy of their memories. Polaroids are back in fashion and we can provide a cheaper alternative to buying the camera,” said Lauren.

“As we are up against 31 other enterprises in Ireland to win this award, we need to get as many ‘followers’ and ‘likes’ as possible on our social media accounts,” said the girls.

They need people to follow their @instantcuimhne Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to help them to win so click herehere, and here  to follow their accounts before Friday, March 27.

The National Final will take place in the Croke Park Conference Centre on April 22.
