FORMER Presentation Secondary School Tralee teacher and current Minister for Education Norma Foley paid a quick visit to the school on Friday to lend her support to a fundraiser.

A former student, Catherine Canavan, left the school in 2005 and now lives in India. She previously worked with the Edith Wilkins Street Children Foundation, a not for profit organisation that provides care and protective support to street children, victims of abuse and sex trafficking, child labourers and other at risk minors.

Teacher Joanna Keane O’Flynn and transition year students organised a no-uniform day in aid of the charity, especially in the light of the COVID crisis being experienced by the Indian people.

Minister for Education, Norma Foley, who was carrying out ministerial duties in the town on Friday, popped by to chat to students and lend her support to the fundraiser.
