PRESENTATION Secondary School, Tralee hosted their annual Dragons Den session in the school on Wednesday last.

It was a very successful event with 52 students pitching their ideas to a number of Dragons in the school.

The ‘Dragons’ were Margaret Brick, CEO Connect Magazine, Fiona Leahy Business Adviser & Co-ordinator, Kerry Enterprise, Melanie Harty CEO Harty’s Foods, Mary Rose Cantillon, Retail Manager AIB and Ken Tobin, Wizbiz Media, Social Media Consultant and Startup Advisor.

The students have been brainstorming and generating their ideas in enterprise class since the start of September.

Many have formed groups and some are going it alone to develop, produce, market and sell their products in the school and to the wider community.

Ideas vary from the ever-popular baked goods such as Nutella cookies and cake pops to Tie dye T-shirts and O’Snap photo booth.

On Wednesday, they pitched their ideas to a group of highly skilled and experienced business people from Tralee town.

The Business teachers, Ms. O’Grady and Ms. O’Connor were very grateful to the local entrepreneurs and business people who gave their time to the event.

The students received excellent feedback which will now allow them to evaluate further their products and develop comprehensive costings taking them on to the next level of their entrepreneurial journey.

Students Ava Kelliher and Caoimhe Hannafin said; “This was a very rewarding experience and it will of huge benefit to us throughout our life”.
