Public Consultation On Taxi Ranks And Pedestrianising The Mall Begins

Do you want the Mall pedestrianised during the day?

A PUBLIC consultation process on pedestrianising The Mall during the day and the location of taxi ranks has begun.

Kerry County Council is proposing traffic calming measures in Bridge Street and The Mall and this includes pedestrianisation of the area from 10.30am and 6.30pm, making this area exclusive to pedestrians during this time.

The plans are available to be viewed at the Town Hall in Princes Street and Kerry County Council Buildings in Rathass for a month.

Submissions on the pedestrianisation issue may be made in writing and marked Section 38 Bridge Street/The Mall to the Administrative Officer, Operations, Capital Infrastructure and Safety Department Room 115, Kerry County Council, County Buildings Rathass, Tralee, or by email roads@kerrycoco.ie and must be received  by 5pm on Monday, October 23.

The Council is also seeking the public’s views on the location of taxi ranks in the town centre in the next month.

A copy of the proposed bye-laws and maps showing the proposed locations of the designated appointed taxi stands are available to be viewed in the Town Hall and KCC in Rathass during office hours for the next month.
