KERRY County Council and Tralee Chamber Alliance are inviting the public to come along to a special event this Thursday.
They will celebrate what would have been the 70th birthday of the late Tralee entertainer, Christie Hennessy at 12.45pm with a short ceremony.
A florale tribute will be placed at his statue near The Square by Deputy Michael Healy-Rae and Cllr Sam Locke on behalf of the Hennessy/Ross Family.
Local singer-songwriter Mark Leen will perform at the event and all are welcome to attend.
Christie, the hugely popular Tralee man, passed away on December 11, 2007, after battling a rare form of lung cancer.
