LISA Fingleton, Kerry Visual Artist in Residence 2021, is inviting the public to a free creative and interactive workshop.

The workshop will focus on becoming present with nature and using drawing as a meditative tool to really see what is around you.

“Ideally if you can sit outside in nature (or in your pollytunnel) for inspiration that would be perfect,” said Lisa. “Otherwise, create a calm space for yourself and bring in some inspiring pieces of nature that you find during the week such as feathers, stones, branches or flowers.

“If you are picking something alive, remember to ask permission from the plant or tree before you do so! Have your drawing drawing tools ready (pencils, pens, paper and a board to lean on).”

“We will start with a short meditation and a brief introduction to drawing with nature. Then you will have time to observe and draw. No drawing experience is necessary, just an openness to the experience,” said Lisa.

Lisa Fingleton is Kerry County Council’s first Visual Artist in Residence. The residency is supported by Creative Ireland, The Arts Council and Kerry’s Arts Office.

This workshop is being organised as part of the MOYA Festival of Mediation, Yoga, Ocean and Art, Ballybunion, Co Kerry. https://www.facebook.com/moyaballybunion/
