Launching this year’s SVP Tralee Christmas Toy Appeal were Marion Moore of SVP, Ruairì Fry International Youth Rep IRL for SVP, Treasa Walsh of SVP Tralee and Sharon Sheehan of Toys Upstairs in Rock Street.

ST Vincent de Paul Tralee has teamed up with Toys Upstairs Toymaster Tralee for the third year in a row, to help bring joy to less advantaged children this Christmas.

The toy shop, located above Kellihers Hardware on Rock Street, took up the mantle of holding the appeal two years ago, after the retirement of Ann Laide and closure of Caballs Toymaster in June of 2019.

People can call in to buy and pay for vouchers over the phone. The vouchers will be used to pay for the toys children requested on their letter to Santa, seen by the folks at SVP, so they will get what they asked for on Christmas morning.

“Demand is high for St Vincent de Paul’s services in the Tralee area,” said Treasa Walsh of SVP Tralee.

“Hopefully Santa’s bag will be full and people will tune into their inner child to help with donations. With the public’ help, on Christmas morning we will know that we have been a ‘Secret Santa’ to very happy children.”

“We are very grateful for any and all the support we get from the public a huge thank you and please God we will all have a safe and joyful Christmas,” said Treasa.

Toys Upstairs will be accepting monies for vouchers right up until Christmas Eve. There’s also a collection box at the tills. For more details, call them on 066-7122555, email kelliherstoys@gmail.com or visit their facebook page
