KERRY’s ultimate fitness challenge is coming to Ballymacelligott at the beginning of next month.
‘B-Wildered – The John Lenihan Wilderness Challenge’, sponsored by Lee Strand, will take place on Saturday, May 2, 11.00am in Glanageenty, Ballymac.
Participants will test their fitness limits while being captivated by one of Ireland’s hidden gems with magnificent views, rugged hills, waterfall, historical ruins and not forgetting the roaming goats!
The course has been designed by running legend John Lenihan in conjunction with Joe O’Connor, Nisus Fitness.
John Lenihan trained in Glanageenty to achieve peak fitness when he became the World Mountain Running Champion in 1991. Joe O’Connor of Nisus Fitness is the Fitness & Performance Expert on RTE’s ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family’ TV show.
“History shows that this rugged landscape has created heroes and warriors, now is your chance to create your piece of history here in the mysterious valley of legends,” said John Lenihan at the B-Wildered launch.
The combined experience of both individuals has culminated in the ultimate challenge over a 7km route with participants embracing natural obstacles and enduring some surprises along the way.
Participants will receive a B-Wildered finisher’s mug, medal and goody bag. There will be refreshments and a post-party with entertainment to enjoy.
