TABLE quiz aficionados were treated to a change of scenery on Wednesday in Costa Coffee when the pint glass was swapped for the coffee cup as part of a charity event in aid of Recovery Haven.
The in-store quiz, at the Mall cafe, was the brainchild of Ballyrickard woman, Claire Maher, who is the manager of the Tralee branch.
“It’s a fantastic cause. I’ve had a number of people close to me who have past away from Cancer, so it is something close to my heart,” said Claire Maher.
The cost for a table was €10, participants were treated to free cups of coffee along with some tasty treats. There was also a raffle with spot prizes.
“Along with helping Recovery Haven, it’s a nice way for people who don’t like the pressure of going to a pub and drinking alcohol to enjoy a table quiz,” said Claire.
Quiz-master on the night was local musician and (beard enthusiast) Ross Brassil. Everyone enjoyed the night with much needed funds raised for the Haven.
