Rap And Leeroy To Play With Ireland U20s In Tralee This Saturday

Local basketballers Leeroy Odiahi and Rapolas Bulvydas who line out for Ireland U20s this weekend at Tralee Sports Complex.

INTERNATIONAL basketball comes to town this weekend with the Ireland Under 20 side taking on Birmingham in an exhibition match at Tralee Sports Complex ahead of the FIBA European Championships.

The game will be a special occasion for former Garvey’s Tralee Warriors’ Rapolas Bulvydas and Leeroy Odiahi, who will be playing at home after a year in the United States.

Former Mercy Mounthawk student Leeroy has been at Indian Hills College in Iowa while Rapolas who was educated at CBS The Green was at Assumption University in Massachusetts.

“We are delighted to be able to play a game in Tralee this weekend,” said Ireland U20 Head coach Paudie Fleming.

“It is another opportunity for us to continue our preparations toward the European Championships in July. It is also very special for Rap and Leeroy to have the opportunity to play in front of their friends and family. We are excited for the game and hopeful that we can get a great crowd in the complex Saturday night.”

Tickets will be on sale at the door on the night for the 6:30pm tip-off. It’s €5 for adults and €2 for U20s. Proceeds will go towards the team’s fundraiser.
