Rents In Kerry Increase Over 19% In A Year

THE latest Daft.ie Rental Report has shown that the average rent in Kerry has risen by nearly 20% in a year, compared to 6.8% nationally.

The Quarter 3 report from the property website shows that the average rent in Kerry is €1,070, up nearly 5% on quarter 2 and a year on year change of 19.2%.

It shows the average monthly rent for a one-bed apartment in Kerry is €729, up 14.5% on last year, a two-bed house is €829 per month (+17.2%), a three-bed house €934 (+15.3%), a four-bed house is €1,058 (+16%) and a five-bed house is €1,145 per month (+8.9%).

Kerry has experienced the highest rise in rental costs, year on year, in Munster and the fifth highest in the country after Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo and Donegal.

There were just 236 homes available to rent in Munster on November 1, the lowest ever in a series extending back to 2006 – the pre-covid average during 2019 was 750.
