A report on the Munster Under 15A Semi Final…

Tralee CBS 4-13

Rochestown College 5-6

the green logoTralee CBS have qualified for the Munster U15 final following a tremendous 2nd half comeback in which they scored an astonishing seventeen points with no reply.

Played in ideal conditions in Millstreet “The Green” started well with the impressive Daragh Leen setting up John Carmody who netting with a beautiful volley on the run on 3mins.

But Rochestown had the better of the exchanges for the remainder of the 1st half as they netted twice themselves to go into an early six point lead. However with Dylan Moriarty, and captain Joseph Linehan getting to grips at midfield the Green finished strongly with two points from the brilliant Sean Kennedy to leave the score line 2-5 to 1-4 at the break in favour of the Corkmen at the break.

Rochestown stretched their lead to seven after the restart but it was then that the Tralee boys swung into their scoring bonanza.

Currow twins David and Jack Moriarty, allied by the resolute Armin Heinrich at centre half half back were the springboard for this purple patch. With Conor O’Sullivan and Cian Purcell buzzing in the forwards they fed Kennedy and Carmody for three further goals to put the Green into an unassailable lead of ten points with three minutes remaining.

A late flurry which yielded two goals put respectability on the scoreline but Luke Chester, Terrance Carmody, Niall Fitzmaurice and keeper Ben Quilter held firm to ease out a four point win.

The Green now progress to a final date with St Brendan’s Killarney who ominously defeated Colaiste Criost Ri 8-19 to 2-5 in the other semi-final for an all Kerry final on November 16.
