Kilmoyley had a two point win over Lixnaw played in John Mitchel’s pitch in Tralee under lights on Thursday night.

Jordan Brick and Maurice O’Connor had Kilmoyley ahead before John Buckley replied for Lixnaw.

Jordan Brick and Sean Maunsell put Kilmoyley three ahead on seven minutes, Shane Conway and John Buckley reduced the margin to one point.

Jordan Brick struck over his third point from long range, that was a feature of the Kilmoyley game where they attempted long range shots, Ricky Heffernan made it Lixnaw four Kilmoyley five, but then Maurice O’Connor capitalised on a mixup in the Lixnaw defence and lashed the sliotar to the net.

Maurice and his brother paudie were very busy for Kilmoyley in the first half.
Kilmoyley went 1.08 to 0.04 ahead with three points from Daniel Collins, Shane Conway had the final score of the half with a point to leave the score Lixnaw 0.05 Kilmoyley 1.10.

Shane Conway added two points on the resumption, Daniel Collins and had two more points, in-between Conor O’Keefe and John Buckley had a point each, Collins added yet another.

Lixnaw were taking a serious grip on the game when they scored six points without reply two from Shane Conway and one each from John Buckley,Conor O’Keefe, Ricky Heffernan and Raymond Galvin.

With the score board reading Kilmoyley 1-12 Lixnaw 0-14 Daniel Collins and James Godley put the game beyond Lixnaw despite a late point from Shane Conway.

Final score Lixnaw 0-15 Kilmoyley 1-14, this was a lively game played at a good pace, Shane Brick and Maurice Murnane with fourteen Championship medals between them must be pleased with the efforts of their charges.

Lixnaw will rue the mistake that led to the goal but will be pleased with their comeback in the second half.
