THE Kingdom Veteran Vintage & Classic Car Club members are once again preparing for their annual Ballymac Vintage Car and Honda 50 Run.

Taking place on Friday, July 26 at 7pm from O’Riada’s Bar, the event this year will benefit Kerry Hospice Foundation and will be held in memory of three people — Joanne Walmsley, Dan O’Connor and Sean Hand — who passed away in the past year and were cared for in the Palliative Care Unit.

Members gathered at O’Riada’s on Monday evening to launch the event — now in its tenth year — and they are hoping that people will contribute to the bucket donation collection that evening.

They are also appealing for female drivers to take part as there haven’t been many women participants over the years.

Also on Monday evening, the Kingdom Veteran Vintage & Classic Car Club (KVVCCC) presented a cheque to Down Syndrome Kerry.

The club had its 40th Ring Of Kerry run on May 18/19 and at a dinner in the Derrynane Hotel during the weekend, there was a bucket collection and €1,000 was raised.

At the presentation of a cheque for €1,000 to Down Syndrome Kerry were, in front; Sarah Pembroke, Tony Hehir (KVVCCC Chairman), Anne Marie Pembroke, George Glover (KVVCCC Treasurer) and Oisin Pembroke.
