THE Right2Water campaign will hold a march this Saturday, January 23 at 2pm starting from outside the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium.

They are calling for the abolition of water charges and Irish Water. Nearly 30 different events are planned by Right2Water across the country on Saturday.

There will also be a demonstration in Listowel at McKenna’s Corner at 12 noon.

Kerry general election candidate and supporter of Right2Water, Michael ‘Pixie’ O’Gorman, welcomed Fianna Fail leader, Micheál Martin’s, assurances over the abolition of Irish Water.

Speaking at the Fianna Fail Ard Fheis last weekend, Micheál Martin said the party would scrap the water charges and Irish Water, should they get into power.

“This is a great win for the people,” said Mr O’Gorman. “Fianna Fail must have being getting the same message at the doors and changed their minds. Hopefully Fianna Fail candidates for the general election will now come and join the people at their local protests this weekend. This protest will be a Celebration – Irish Water is now on its last legs.”
