Rise Of 55 In Kerry Cases, 1,276 More Reported Nationally

KERRY has seen a rise of 55 cases in the health authorities’ daily update this evening.

The incidence in the county over the past 14 days is now 198 per 100,000 (17th highest nationally) with 293 cases confirmed in the same period.

The official number of COVID-19 cases in the county rose by 8 to reflect yesterday’s increase, which brings the number to 662 since the start of the pandemic with today’s cases to be added tomorrow.

1,276 new cases over the past 24 hours confirmed nationally by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) this evening.

278 in Dublin, 149 in Cork, 108 in Meath, 107 in Galway, 80 in Wexford and the remaining cases are spread across the rest of the counties.

The number of people who have tested positive for the virus in the Republic of Ireland so far, now stands at 48,678.

There were eight additional deaths from the virus reported this evening in Ireland. Five occurred in October, two in September and one in June. The total number of people who have died after contracting COVID-19 is 1,849.
