KERRY County Council has extended the period of closure for the road from the Forge Cross roundabout to the Listellick/Abbeydorney road for another seven weeks.
The 1.2km road has been closed since mid-May to facilitate the construction of a new road bridge over the Big River as part of the Tralee Northern Relief Road Project.
It was due to open next week, but now it has been announced it will remain closed until Monday December 5. The proposed road closure is necessary for construction works and for public safety.

Access will remain open for residents and for emergency vehicles, within the extents of the road closure. An alternative route will be clearly signposted.
