Rock Street/Caherlsee Swimming Team Enjoys Successful Community Games

THE Rock Street/Caherslee Community Games swimming team had a very successful outing at the recent Kerry Community Games Swimming Finals in Tralee Sports & Leisure Centre.

The team was successful in the following events:

• Boys U12 Backstroke — 4th Luke O’Donoghue

• Girls U14 Freestyle — 1st Kim McTigue, 2nd Rachel Barry

•Boys U14 Butterfly — 2nd Eamonn Barry

• Girls U16 Freestyle — 1st Grace Reidy, 3rd Lia McLysaght

• Girls U16 Butterfly — 1st Alex Perez

• Girls U16 IM Relay — 1st Rock St/Caherslee (Lia McLysaght, Kim McTigue, Alex Perez, Grace Reidy)

The winners in the Kerry finals now go forward to represent Kerry and their community in the National Community Games Swimming Finals in the University of Limerick on the weekend of 25th & 26th May.

“Jim Garvey of Garvey’s Supervalu generously sponsored t-shirts for the team and we would like to acknowledge and thank him for his generous support,” said Pat McTigue of Rock Street/Caherslee Community Games.

“Many thanks to all our competitors that participated in the Kerry finals, their parents for their continued support and our hardworking committee and secretary, Audrey for their service to the area and the Community Games. Wishing our winners and all the Kerry winners every success in the National Finals in UL in May.’
