Roger Harty: Fear (Continued)

rsz_roger_hartyLAST week I wrote an article about Fear (click here). The essence of the article was that psychological fear wasn’t real i.e. that there is no imminent danger.

Thus I expressed that type of fear using the acronym

F alse
E xpectations
A ppearing
R eal

As the expectations are false (not real) thus the fear is a perception (thoughts) and thus is regarded as psychological.

However the as the body cannot tell the difference between real danger and perceived danger, it reacts in the same way thus giving a horrible uncomfortable feeling which in turn triggers the fight or flight chemicals in the body.

Because danger is a warning to the actual survival mechanism, our body doesn’t want to take a chance on whether the danger is real or perceived.

This mechanism can also be worked in reverse mode to our advantage., when we know for a fact that there is no real danger (remember real danger is very rare in the modern world compared to the time of our ancestors).

With this realisation in mind we can change our thoughts (change how we look at the situation) which in turn will change the resulting feeling (calmness or even excitement!) and thus change the chemical reaction within.

Quote : We cannot control what happens in our lives but we can always control how we react.
Ergo, if we are always in control of how we react – we can bring a certain amount of calmness to any given situation. It is within our own remit.

Wayne Dyer, a renowned life coach, writes.

“When we change the way we look at the world the world we look at changes”.

So when we alter how we think about any given situation – this is a game-changer in how we perceive the world we live in – this is thus connected with our own inner happiness.

With this in mind I am going to change the acronym or Fear from above to…

F eeling
E xcited
A nd
R eady

This, as I said above, is a very simple game changer which every aware Human Being has access to.

Changing our thoughts (the way we look at a situation) will change our feelings which in turn alters our chemical reaction within. Everything is within our own control.

Ultimately this means that we are in charge of our own Inner Peace.

Next week I am going to write about – Welcome the Rain
