Roger Harty: Spacemen Coming To Earth

rsz_roger_hartyI MUST admit that I have never been a great fan of Star Wars movies and their ilk, as I found them to be futuristic and perhaps a bit too unrealistic for my liking.

In simple terms, what are now referred to as sci-fi (a film genre that uses science fiction) movies ‘do it’ for some people; however not for me.

Having said that and at the risk of being accused of total contradiction, I must also share a secret admiration for Captain Spock (Leonard Nimoy with the pointy ears!!) and his cohorts on board the  Enterprise in the Star Trek series of my childhood as there was often a good message behind each episode.

We don’t really know what is ‘out there’ so I suppose from a human point of view it is understandable to go with the concept of ‘seeing is believing’.

However, for the purpose of getting my message across, I am asking you to ‘humour me’ and go with the idea of spacemen coming to Earth.

A good question at this stage is ‘Why do I need a spaceman?’ Well the answer is to ‘Observe the way we human’s live on this Earth’ and a spaceman seems to fit the bill perfectly. Awareness is King.

Ok Roger – get to the point. I have written in previous articles about the frivolity and waste of energy that is caused by worry and anxiety. If you asked anyone ‘What is benefit of worry?’ – The inevitable answer you would get is – None.

(For the purpose of this article let’s give this wasted energy from anxiety and worry a colour, say green, and these spacemen have the heightened sensory powers to detect this colour)

A conversation develops between two spacemen observing the inhabitants on planet Earth.

Spaceman 1:   What is all this green energy emanating from all these humans?

Spaceman 2:   That would be the energy given off by worry and anxiety.

Spaceman 1:  But my textbook indicates that there is absolutely no benefit to this type of energy, in fact it is totally futile yet everyone seems to do it. Is it possible to prevent wasting all of this energy as these humans need such energy for their health, happiness and well-being?

Spaceman 2: Yes there is a way. There is a practice called mindfulness and meditation which can help eliminate the wastage of this green energy over time but very few of these humans are interested in doing it.

Spaceman  1: Well if they know what to do and don’t do it, let’s not waste our energy here and move on to the next planet!

Quote from― Erma Bombeck

“Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere”

Next week I am going to write about – The importance of drinking water

  1. Finbarr Griffin says:

Spock was the second in command of the Starship Enerprise and not the captain. The captain was James T Kirk.
As for the aliens and the green energy……..they could decide to blow us all away because that green energy is completely wrecking their heads.
