THE Rose of Tralee International Festival CEO is to meet businesspeople in Tralee with a view to encouraging the formation of a ‘co-operative’ style venture.

Anthony O’Gara was speaking on Radio Kerry’s ‘Kerry Today’ programme this morning where he said they would be meeting with “significant” businesspeople in the town about the future of the Festival.

He told host Jerry O’Sullivan that there were around 500 businesses in town which could come together to form a ‘co-operative’, with each making a financial contribution into a fund.

The businesses themselves would then decide how best to use this fund during the Festival. Mr O’Gara suggested an annual contribution of around €500 each, but each amount would depend on the size of the business.
