TraleeToday.ie’s coverage of the Rose of Tralee International Festival is brought to you by AIB Tralee

The Festival is here and there’s a whole lot to do today. Here’s just a few suggestions…

1. Market research…

A variety of food, arts and crafts stalls are in place from 9am to 9pm for the Festiva Market in the town centre. The food is the highlight though with noodles, burgers, bratwursts and more to enjoy so get down and sample the atmosphere.

2. Family fun…

It’s everywhere you look this weekend, but the Family Town in the Park is where the bulk of the family entertainment is centred. Elsewhere The Square has a kiddies disco between 3pm and 4pm and the Old Goats go on a giddy walkabout.

3. Enjoy the music…

From saxophone players, to jazz in the town park, to a kiddies disco in the Square, there’s loads of music during the day in the town. Street performers aplenty and even a brass band from the Netherlands. And that’s just during the day. The night however…

4. For the younger ones…

Tonight’s the night for pop fans on the Denny Street stage. First up is a local singer who has been making a name for himself on the national scene, Seamus Harty, who takes the stage at 7.30pm.

He’s followed by X -Factor stars Sean and Conor Price while the headline act is Dancing With The Stars winner, Jake Carter.

5. For those about to rock…

The Square will have a very different vibe where rock fans can enjoy ‘Live Forever — Oasis Tribute’ on the stage. Expect wall to wall anthems, cagoules and great fun.

6. Sample the nightlife…

There’s life outside the streets too of course and the atmosphere will be great in the town’s pubs. The Brogue has ‘Dreams Of Freedom’ playing while over in Roundy’s Bar the new cocktail menu is going down a storm. There’s no shortage of places to sample the festival atmosphere.
