In the wake of the death of iconic actress, Maureen O’Hara two weeks ago, the people at the Rose of Tralee Facebook Page decided to upload a video tribute to the ‘The Quiet Man’ star.
It was an archive clip of O’Hara singing The Rose Of Tralee on the late Andy Williams’ TV show during the 1960s.
The post was uploaded on Sunday, October 25, and since then has been viewed over 450,000 times and – we’re reliably informed – has a post reach to over 2,000,000 Facebook accounts.

It has over 5,000 likes and has been shared an incredible 7,600 times and counting.
What started as a genuine, heartfelt tribute from the Festival has now turned into great publicity for the event and Tralee.
