A PIG farm in the Castleisland area is to feature as part of a series of live broadcasts for RTE’s upcoming ‘Big Week on the Farm’.

RTÉ One will be broadcasting live from farms across five successive nights starting on April 4th and bringing viewers to the heart of Irish farms as spring begins to kick in.

And Parknageragh Pig Breeders in Castleisland will feature in the first show on Monday, April 4 at 7pm. Owned by Michael McAuliffe of the Truly Irish company, presenter Darragh McCullough will be at the farm for a live link up, which is more great publicity for the thriving Truly Irish brand.

The main studio for Big Week on the Farm is on a farm in Gartlandstown, Co Westmeath. Presented by Áine Lawlor and Ella McSweeney with help from a range of celebrity guest presenters, the show will be broadcast from a purpose-built studio in front of a live studio audience.

Each night will also feature live link-ups with farms around the country. Ear to the Ground presenters Helen Carroll and Darragh McCullough will visit farms the length and breadth of the country and will broadcast live from them during the show.

Every episode will feature: at least one celebrity guest and one expert per night, there will be two LIVE broadcasts from ‘satellite farms’ around the country as well as interesting and fun features including ‘The Secret Life of…’ and a hidden camera following various animals as well as challenges and demos LIVE in studio.
