A CHEQUE for €800 was presented to two local branches of the MS Society on Friday afternoon.

Around 200 people took part in the Optimal Fitness Tralee’s 5k and 10k Corporate Challenge from Aspen Grove on Friday, May 25 and some of the proceeds went to the Tralee and Killarney branches of MS Ireland.

Michelle Greaney of Optimal Fitness had pledged to give 15% of the proceeds to the MS branches but gave €300 extra as well. She said she was very grateful for the support of Aspen Grove in raising the funds for the MS branches and they will be holding another event next year.

Audrey Moran of MS Tralee/West Kerry and Joan Crowley of Killarney MS both said the money will go towards physio, acupuncture and pilates sessions for their members.

They were both delighted with Michelle’s help and welcome any fundraisers run by members of the public.
