TRALEE Bay Sailing Club will host the ‘Optimist Munster Championships 2014’ this coming weekend September 6-7.

At the competition, which takes place in Fenit, over a hundred or so young dinghy sailors ranging in age from 7 to 14 will compete in what promises to be an exciting and fun weekend of sailing.

It will also provide a wonderful spectacle to those watching from shore to see all the boats in full sail in beautiful Tralee Bay.

“Tralee Bay Sailing Club would like to extend a warm welcome to all Optimist competitors and their families and wish them every success and an enjoyable stay in the area for what is the final regional competition of the 2014 season,” said Francis Clifford of Tralee Bay Sailing Club.

“We would like to thank IODAI (International Optimist Dinghy Association of Ireland) for their support with the event and the Organising Committee which is led by Tim Kelliher, Kelliher’s Toyota, Tralee.” said Francis.
