WHILE yesterday has been infamously branded ‘Blue Monday’ by the media, the local branch of the Samaritans made it more palatable with a fundraiser and a chance for people meet up.

‘Brew Monday’ saw them invite the public for a free cuppa and a chat and a bit of craic at their free coffee morning in Tralee International Resource Centre in Boherbee. There was also a donation box on the day to help cover the cost.

“The fundraising aspect this morning is more secondary as we just want to make people aware of what we do and where we are located in Moyderwell,” said Jan Rice from the Samaritans.

The Samaritans will have a recruitment drive in February so call down to their base in Moyderwell, next to Moyderwell Primary School, if you wish to get involved.

The Samaritans free phone number is available to anyone 24/7 on 116123 or email jo@samaritans.org
