A group of walkers on the Kerry Camino last year.

ANYONE up for a trek this weekend?

Kerry Camino will be leading a walk of the first stage of The Dingle Way, Tralee to Camp, on this Saturday.

The Kerry Camino is normally a three day event held on the May bank holiday weekend, but this gives an opportunity for people in Kerry and beyond to sample some of the Camino in one day.

It invites walkers to follow in the footsteps of St Brendan The Navigator who, it is said, trekked by foot with some of his fellow Monks west along the foot of the Slieve Mish Mountains which lie to the south of the path which he walked.

The event is being organised by the Kerry Camino Committee and departure time is 10am from St John’s Church, Castle Street. The walking time is approximately 4/5 hours.

Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing and footwear and to bring a packed  lunch/snacks.

Anyone interested in taking part can get more information by going to www.kerrycamino.com, www.facebook.com/KerryCamin0 or Email: info@kerrycamino.com
