Siobhan Reen, Liaison Nurse with the Jack & Jill Foundation accepts a cheque from Aoife Moynihan, Martin Moore and Mags O’Regan Quillinan after the Santa 5k Fun Run fundraiser held in December.

THE proceeds from a fun event held a couple of weeks before Christmas has raised thousands of euro for a children’s charity.

The Tralee Santa 5k Fun Run saw the Tralee Bay Wetlands turn red and white on Sunday, December 15 where families got together in festive costumes for some healthy fun.

This was the seventh year of the event which was founded by Martin and Deirdre Moore in 2013 in memory of their daughter Fiona, who was just 16 when she passed away in May of that year from Pulmonary Hypertension, while waiting on a lung transplant.
