Santa 5k Run Raises Thousands For Two Great Causes

HUNDREDS of people took part in the sixth annual Santa 5k Fun Run in December and the results of that fundraising event were presented today.

The event, which is organised in memory of Fiona Moore, of Caherslee who passed away in 2013, raises much needed funds for deserving children’s charities and this year’s recipients were Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin and Conalls Pulmonary Hypertension clinic.

Fiona’s dad Martin Moore and fellow organiser Mags O’Regan Quillinan handed over a cheque for €6,000 to representatives from Crumlin and €1,000 to Conalls PHC.

Now in its sixth year December’s event put them over  the €50,000 mark to date.

The proceeds from previous runs have gone to Make a Wish Foundation, Heart Children Ireland, Ronald McDonald House, Barretstown and Kerry University Hospital.
