WHILE it might not feel like spring yet, the good people at Scoil Eoin are planning an event to showcase how to use seasonal ingredients to create amazing dishes.

The ‘Spring Food Demo’ is being organised by the Parents Association  at the primary school to raise funds to be used in the new school extension once built.

They have teamed up with the ‘Tralee Culinary Gangsters’ who will be conducting the demo in Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Thursday March 22 at 7.30pm.

At the heart of the idea is cooking with local ingredients that are in season. On the night they will have some 5th class pupils and budding chefs along to help out.

The monies raised will be used to install herb gardens to complement the cookery room and also plants for the sensory garden for the new ASD /Autistic unit.

Raffles and spot prizes will take place on the night and there will be a selection of lovely foodie prizes to be won. Tickets are €10 each and will be on sale from the school, Croi Restaurant in The Square, Maguires Butchers Caherslee and Ballyroe Heights Hotel.
